Remailing at the 2010 Convention
Cyd in Oregon has agreed to repeat her coordination of “Remailing” as she did for the 2009 New Hampshire National Sweepstakes Convention.
“Remailing” is the process by which sweepstakes entries are forwarded to sweepstaking friends who mail your entries from different states. The theory and justification for the practice is that the judging agencies often have different bins or bags in which entries are stored and that entries from different states will be in different bags, thus increasing your probability of being in the bag from which the winning entries are selected.
Remailing is the geographic analogy to the temporal sending entries over the length of the sweepstakes rather than sending in all entries at once.
As practiced at the convention, it is technically not “remailing” because the sweepstakes entries are brought to the convention rather than being mailed.
Those wishing to have entries mailed from other states prepare their entries, sort them into state packets and bring them to the convention. If desired, mailing dates (which should be after September 10, 2010) can be requested.
Volunteers from each participating state offer to take the stack of entries for their home states back with them for remailing from those states.
Cyd assumes the tasks of coordinating the remailing personnel, gathering the remailing entries at the convention, sorting them into states and distributing them to the remailing volunteers.
